Announcement: issue a commemorative NT$100 banknote for circulation and uncut commemorative NT$100 currency sheets in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of China on January 6, 2011

Subject:
The Central Bank of the Republic of China (Taiwan) will issue a commemorative NT$100 banknote for circulation and uncut commemorative NT$100 currency sheets in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of China on January 6, 2011.
The Bank of Taiwan has been appointed by the Central Bank of the Republic of China(Taiwan)to deal with the exchange of the commemorative NT$100 banknote and the sale of the uncut commemorative NT$100 currency sheets. Each uncut commemorative NT$100 currency sheet, comprising of three commemorative NT$100 banknotes in one sheet, costs NT$500.


Authority:
The authority is based on Article 13, 15, and 18-3 of The Central Bank of the Republic of China (Taiwan) Act, Article 5 of the Regulations Governing the Issuance of Gold and Silver Coins and Commemorative Notes and Coins, and Executive Yuan Directive: Yuan Tai Tsai No. 09900018272 dated April 6, 2010 and Yuan Tai Tsai No. 09900022486 dated April 21, 2010.

     1. Design and Specifications:
        (1) Face Value: NT$100
        (2) Dimensions: 145mm × 70mm
        (3) Material: Paper
        (4) Main Color: Red
        (5) Design:
           Obverse: A portrait of Dr. Sun Yat-Sen. The intaglio printing reads “The Republic of China”, 
                                  The Central Bank of The Republic of China”, “One Hundred Dollars”, and “100 ”.
           Reverse: The image of “The Chung-Shan Building”. The intaglio printing reads “ In celebration 
                                  of the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Republic of China”, “One Hundred Dollars”, and “100 ”.
       2. The commemorative NT$100 banknote will be circulated in Taiwan, Kinmen and Matsu region starting January 6, 2011.
