Coverage characteristics |
5.1.1 Statistical presentation Data are disseminated on the following rates (as the percentage per annum): (1) The central bank's discount rate (the policy variable rate). (2) Deposit rate: Average of 1-year deposit rates of the five leading domestic banks. (3) Loan rate: Average of base lending rates of the five leading domestic banks. (4) Short-term money market rate: Weighted average of overnight interbank interest rates. (5) Long-term government bond yield: Weighted average yield on 10-year government bonds, which have the highest transaction volume in the secondary market. |
Periodicity |
4.1.1 Periodicity On the day the change is made for the central bank's discount rate. Daily data (released by weighted average or at the end of month), for all the other rates and yields. |
Timeliness |
4.1.2 Timeliness The same day for data on change in the central bank's discount rate. The next business day, for all the other rates and yields. |

Advance dissemination of release calendar |
5.1.3 Advance release calendar An advance release calendar is disseminated on the CBC website. A one-week ahead notice of the confirmed/revised calendar is available in a press release issued in the morning of the first day of the release week. When the central bank’s discount rate is changed, the data are simultaneously disseminated in a press release to the public. |
