Approved foreign exchange business in February 2018

In line with the policy of promoting the liberalization, internationalization, and development of the foreign exchange market, the Bank approved the following:

1.    KGI Bank to engage in non-discretionary individually managed money trust business denominated in foreign currencies.

2.    KGI Bank to issue a dollar-denominated senior unsecured note.

3.    E-Sun Bank to issue a dollar-denominated subordinated unsecured note.

4.    E-Sun Bank to engage in proprietary trading of the foreign securities trading business provided such trading is neither an investment of proprietary funds nor done to meet hedging purposes.

5.    As of the end of February 2018, there were 3,445 authorized banks, including 3,407 domestic banks, 3 Mainland banks and 35 foreign banks.
