Approved foreign exchange business in October 2015

In line with the policy of promoting the liberalization, internationalization, and development of the foreign exchange market, the Bank approved the following:

1.  Amendment of regulations governing RMB position offset by authorized banks with RMB clearing bank in Taiwan Area.

2.  Reappointment of Mega International Commercial Bank as USD clearing bank.

3.  United Overseas Bank Taipei Branch, The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ Taipei Branch, Citibank Taiwan and EnTie Commercial bank to engage in electronic transaction businesses involving foreign exchange.

4.  Central Reinsurance Corporation to engage in reinsurance of non-life insurance in foreign currencies.

5.  Amundi Taiwan Limited to act as a single master agent in offering and selling offshore funds in Taiwan.

6.  Taishin Securitites Investment Trust Co.,Ltd. to conduct the foreign currency discretionary investment business.

7.  6 branches of 2 banks to operate foreign exchange business. As of the end of October 2015, there were 3,415 authorized banks, including 3,376 domestic banks, 3 Mainland banks and 36 foreign banks.
