Approved foreign exchange business in November 2014

In line with the policy of promoting the liberalization, internationalization, and development of the foreign exchange market, the Bank approved the following:
1.Bank of Kaohsiung to engage in foreign exchange settlement with an amount equal to or over New Taiwan dollar 500,000 through internet banking.
2.Taichung Commercial Bank to engage in New Taiwan dollar non-delivery forward (NDF).
3.Allianz Global Investors Taiwan Ltd. to conduct in foreign currency discretionary investment business.
4.Calyon Corporate and Investment Bank and DBS (Taiwan) Bank to commence trading foreign bonds as an agent.
5.Prudential Life Insurance Company of Taiwan to conduct investment-linked insurance business in foreign currencies and foreign currency loans collateralized by the same insurance policy.
6.The authorized banks to offer foreign currency loans denominated in a foreign currency other than the foreign currency specified in the transaction documents.
7.One branch of Sunny Bank to operate foreign exchange business. As of the end of November 2014, there were 3,409 authorized banks, including 3,370 domestic banks, 3 Mainland banks and 36 foreign banks.
