Foreign Exchange Reserves as at the End of
October 2012
The foreign exchange reserves of the Republic of China amounted to US$399.22 billion at the end of October 2012, showing an increase of US$1.26 billion from the figure recorded at the end of the previous month.

The main factor responsible for the increase in foreign exchange reserves in October 2012 is returns from foreign exchange reserves management.

Note: The market value of securities investment and TWD deposits held by foreign portfolio investors at the end of October 2012 reached USD204.5 billion, equivalent to 51% of foreign exchange reserves.
