Foreign Exchange Reserves as at the End of
July 2012
The foreign exchange reserves of the Republic of China amounted to US$391.11 billion at the end of July 2012, showing a decrease of US$127 million from the figure recorded at the end of the previous month.
In July 2012, the Euro depreciated against the US dollar. Foreign exchange
reserves denominated in Euro was worth less in terms of the base currency,
the US dollar.

Note: The market value of securities investment and the TWD deposits held by foreign portfolio investors at the end of July 2012 reached USD193.7 billion, equivalent to 50% of foreign exchange reserves.
