The Issuance of the Commemorative Coin for the Inauguration of the Thirteenth President and Vice President of the Republic of China (Taiwan)
In celebration of the inauguration of the Thirteenth President and Vice President of the Republic of China (Taiwan), the Central Bank of the Republic of China (Taiwan) will issue a commemorative gold coin and a commemorative silver coin on May 21, 2012. Each commemorative gold coin will be sold for NT$54,000 and the silver coin NT$1,800.
The Bank of Taiwan has been appointed by the Central Bank to deal with the sale of 10,000 gold coins and 50,000 silver coins, limited to one gold coin and one silver coin each per purchaser at a time.
The two commemorative coins are legal tender. The gold coin contains one ounce of gold and is engraved with a face value of NT$2,000, while the silver coin contains one ounce of silver and is engraved with a face value of NT$200. Both obverses feature the engraved portraits of the Thirteenth President and Vice President. The reverses show the insignia of the Office of the President.
