Foreign Exchange Reserves as at the End of
March 2012
The foreign exchange reserves of the Republic of China amounted to US$393.87 billion at the end of March 2012, showing a decrease of US$555 million from the figure recorded at the end of the previous month.
In March 2012, the EUR and other major currencies depreciated against the US dollar. The resulting decrease in foreign exchange reserves is greater than returns from foreign exchange reserves management.

Note: The market value of securities investment and the TWD deposits held by foreign portfolio investors at the end of March 2012 reached USD219.6 billion, equivalent to 56% of foreign exchange reserves.
