Foreign Exchange Reserves as at the End of
July 2011
The foreign exchange reserves of the Republic of China amounted to US$400.77 billion at the end of July 2011, showing an increase of US$440 million from the figure recorded at the end of the previous month.
The level of foreign exchange reserves showed a moderate increase in July because returns from the management of reserve assets were partly offset by the depreciation of the EURO against the US dollar.

Note: The market value of securities investment and deposits held by foreign portfolio investors at the end of July 2011 reached USD238.6 billion, equivalent to 60% of foreign exchange reserves.
