Approved foreign exchange business in June 2010
In line with the policy of promoting the liberalization, internationalization, and development of the foreign exchange market, the Bank approved the following:
1. Taiwan Cooperative Bank to commence internet banking involving FCY deposits settlements with a value equal to or over NT$500,000 .
2. E.Sun Securities Co. Ltd. to handle consigned trading of foreign securities involving foreign fees receipts and disbursements settled in NTD.
3. Polaris Securities Co. Ltd. to issue domestic call (put) warrants linked to foreign securities or index in foreign securities markets involving inward and outward remittances.
4. 11 branches of 4 banking enterprises to operate foreign exchange business. As of the end of June 2010, there were 1,551 authorized foreign exchange banks, including 1,485 domestic banks and 66 foreign banks.
