Foreign Exchange Reserves as at the End of
October 2008
The foreign exchange reserves of the Republic of China amounted to US$278.15 billion at the end of October 2008, showing a decrease of US$2.98 billion from the figure recorded at the end of the previous month but an increase of US$7.84 billion if compared to the end of 2007.
The main factor for the change in foreign exchange reserves in October 2008 was:
There were large foreign capital inflows at the end of October, but outflows earlier in the month still caused a net outflow for October as a whole.
