Foreign Exchange Reserves as at the End of
June 2006

The foreign exchange reserves of the Republic of China amounted to US$260.35 billion at the end of Jun 2006, showing a decrease of US$588 million from the figure recorded at the end of the previous month.

The main factor responsible for the drop in foreign exchange reserves in June 2006 is the repatriation of foreign capital. Foreign investors as a group was a net seller in Taiwan’s equity markets in June.
