Foreign Exchange Reserves as at the End of
August 2007
The foreign exchange reserves of the Republic of China amounted to US$261.37 billion at the end of August 2007, showing a decrease of US$4.92 billion from the figure recorded at the end of last month.
The main factor responsible for the drop in foreign exchange reserves in August 2007 was the repatriation of foreign capital from emerging markets (including Taiwan).
