FOREIGN EXCHANGE RESERVES AS OF
OCTOBER 31, 2003
The Foreign Exchange Reserves of the Republic of China amounted to US$196.61
billion at the end of October 2003, showing an increase of US$6,033 million from
the figure recorded at the end of last month and an increase of US$34,953
million compared to the end of last year.
The main factors responsible for the increase in foreign exchange reserves in
October 2003 are :
1.Substantial foreign capital inflows
2.Inward remittance of USD921 million from ADRs issued abroad by The Development
Fund, Executive Yuan.
3.Returns from foreign exchange reserves management
