THE ISSUEANCE OF A NT$10 COIN & A SILVER COIN TO COMMEMORATE THE 90TH 
ANNIVERSARY OF THE FOUNDING OF THE REPUBLIC OF CHINA
To commemorate the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of China, 
the Central Bank of China will issue a commemorative NT$10 coin for circulation 
and a commemorative silver coin on 9th October 2001. The Bank of Taiwan is 
appointed as the delegate of the Central Bank of China to deal with the exchange 
of the commemorative NT$10 coins and the sale of commemorative coin sets. Each 
commemorative coin set, including a silver coin and 2 NT$10 coins, costs NT$750.
Description:
I. Commemorative silver coin:
1. Face Value: NT$50
2. Purity: 99.9% silver
3. Weight: 15.568 gms
4. Diameter: 33 mm
5. Design:
Obverse: A portrait of Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, the founding Father of the Republic of 
China, forms the main design. The upper part of the coin is inscribed with 
Chinese characters which mean " In Commemoration of the 90th Anniversary of the 
Founding of the Republic of China, " and below the portrait " 1911-2001."
Reverse: Two Latent Images of four Chinese characters meaning " Prosperity of 
the Nation " and the symbol of "Double Tenth," with fireworks above, overlap to 
form a circular shape. The face value and purity of the coin are inscribed 
below. Ninety dots, one for each year, form a circle close to the edge of the 
coin.
II. Commemorative NT$10 Coin:
1. Face Value: NT$10
2. Composition: Cupro-nickel
3. Weight: 7.5 gms
4. Diameter: 26 mm
5. Design:
