Liquid Reserves of Financial Institutions (August 2026)
1. For the month of August 2026, liabilities subject to liquid reserve requirements totaled NT$55,888.6 billion, of which deposits totaled NT$54,991.7 billion accounting for 98.40% of the total. Based on the statutory minimum liquid reserve ratio of 10%, the required liquid reserves amounted to NT$5,588.9 billion.
2. For the month of August 2026, actual liquid reserve assets totaled NT$13,146.5 billion, representing an increase of NT$311.7 billion from the previous month. By category, the primary components were as follows (Table 1):
(1) Certificates of deposit issued by the Bank amounted to NT$5,679.3 billion accounting for 43.20% of the total, an increase of NT$417.6 billion from the previous month.
(2) Government bonds stood at NT$2,369.4 billion accounting for 18.02% of the total, an increase of NT$0.8 billion from the previous month.
(3) Re-deposits at designated banks by financial institutions totaled NT$973.7 billion accounting for 7.41% of the total, a decrease of NT$66.7 billion from the previous month.
3. For the month of August 2026, the actual liquid reserve ratio of financial institutions was 23.52%, representing an increase of 0.33 percentage points from the previous month (Table 2).
