Average Rate on New Loans of Five Major Banks (March 2026)
For the month of March 2026, the weighted average interest rate on newly-extended loans of the five major domestic banks (Bank of Taiwan, Taiwan Cooperative Bank, First Commercial Bank, Hua Nan Commercial Bank and Land Bank of Taiwan) increased by 0.019 percentage points from 2.086% in the previous month to 2.105%, owing to an increase in the interest rate on Current Operations loans. Excluding Treasury borrowings, the weighted average interest rate on newly-extended loans decreased from 2.189% in the previous month to 2.142%, down by 0.047 percentage points.
