Approved foreign exchange business in November 2023

In line with the policy of promoting the liberalization, internationalization, and development of the foreign exchange market, the Bank approved the following:
1. Bank of China Taipei Branch to issue foreign currency denominated negotiable certificates of deposit.
2. HSBC Bank (Taiwan) to engage in non-discretionary individually managed money trust business denominated in foreign currencies.
3. CTBC Bank to issue three dollar-denominated senior unsecured structured notes linked to equity derivatives.
4. The Shanghai Commercial & Savings Bank to issue a callable dollar-denominated senior unsecured structured note linked to interest rate.
5. AZ Sinopro Investment Planning Limited to act as the local mandated agent of an offshore fund institution and conduct private placement to specified counterparties.
6. Two branches of two banks to operate the foreign exchange business. As of the end of November 2023, there were 3,467 authorized banks, including 3,427 domestic banks, 3 Mainland banks, and 37 foreign banks.
