Approved foreign exchange business in November 2022
In line with the policy of promoting the liberalization, internationalization, and development of the foreign exchange market, the Bank approved the following:
1. DBS Bank (Taiwan) to accept customer’s declaration of foreign exchange settlement against New Taiwan Dollar through the Internet.
2. Pocket Securities to conduct consigned trading of foreign securities involving receipts and disbursements settled in New Taiwan Dollar or foreign currencies.
3. Fubon Futures Co., Ltd., concurrently operating a leverage transaction merchant, to conduct foreign currency denominated contracts for differences (CFDs) linked to foreign equity indexes.
4. One branch of one bank to operate the foreign exchange business. As of the end of November 2022, there were 3,457 authorized banks, including 3,417 domestic banks, 3 Mainland banks, and 37 foreign banks.
