Approved foreign exchange business in August 2022

In line with the policy of promoting the liberalization, internationalization, and development of the foreign exchange market, the Bank approved the following:
1.Taiwan Business Bank, First Commercial Bank, Chang Hwa Commercial Bank, Mega International Commercial Bank, Land Bank of Taiwan, Bank of Taiwan and Bank of China Taipei Branch to issue foreign currency denominated negotiable certificates of deposit.
2.O-Bank to engage in principal protected callable structured products composed of foreign currency interest rate options, foreign currency interest rate swaps and foreign currency interest rate swaptions linked to foreign currency principals.
3.Natixis Taipei Branch to engage in RMB business.
4.First Commercial Bank to issue a dollar-denominated senior unsecured note linked to interest rate derivatives.
5.As of the end of August 2022, there were 3,457 authorized banks, including 3,418 domestic banks, 3 Mainland banks, and 36 foreign banks.
