Foreign Exchange Reserves as of the End of July 2022
The foreign exchange reserves of the Republic of China amounted to US$547.81 billion as of the end of July 2022, showing a decrease of US$1.15 billion from the figure recorded at the end of the previous month.
The factors responsible for change in the foreign exchange reserves in July 2022 are:
- Returns from foreign exchange reserves management.
- Exchange rate movements of other reserve currencies against the USD.
- The central bank stepped in to smooth out volatile capital flows to maintain an orderly foreign exchange market.

Note: The market value of securities investment and the NTD deposits held by foreign portfolio investors at the end of July 2022 reached US$537.9 billion, equivalent to 98% of foreign exchange reserves.
