Does the Bank remunerate on reserve accounts?
Banks hold two types of reserves accounts, namely Reserves Account A and Reserves Account B, at the Bank. Reserves Account A is non-interest bearing account. The deposits in Reserves Account B usually earn interest, the remunerative rates on Account B differentiate for reserves from demand deposits and time deposits, however,demand deposits of non-residents' funds have earned no interest since Jan 1, 2011.
