The Data: Coverage, Periodicity, and Timeliness |
| Coverage characteristics |
Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE) compiles a total of 26 stock price indexes, of which the most important one is the TSE Capitalization Weighed Stock Index (TAIEX). TAIEX's base year value as of year 1966 was set at 100 and has been continuously updated since 1971. Other indexes include the capitalization weighed stock index excluding financial shares and 22 industry group indexes. Besides, the TSE Composite Stock Price Average and the TSE Industrial Stock Price Average are price-weighed indexes. Quotes are as of market closing. |
